HELLO FROM THE BAMC THERAPY DOGS
A 501(c)(3) supporting therapy dog teams making a pawsitive impact in their local military community.

ABOUT US
The Brooke Army Medical Center Therapy Dog Program 501(c)(3) exists to support the therapy dog teams who are positively impacting patients, staff and other military personnel at BAMC and in the local military community.
Therapy Dogs are scientifically proven to reduce stress, anxiety, and pain in a hospital setting. Through therapy visits, our goal is to support patient healing, provide comfort to visitors, and improve the overall morale and well-being of staff.
Our therapy teams come from different backgrounds but share one thing, a heart for serving our military community. Unlike service dogs or emotional support animals, therapy dogs work alongside their handlers (also owners) to serve and support other people.
Each handler and dog team has been through at least one year of training, have been tested by an AKC recognized organization, and earned a therapy dog certification.
Our teams are required to be members of therapy organizations that provide insurance and policies for visits, health, and maintenance.
